Kankakee, IL Where the Chemistry Happens We are looking for a self-motivated problem solver like you to develop in-depth technical knowledge to support Vitamin E and Sterol production at our Kankakee site. In this position, you will assist a Principal Scientist and develop into a technical leader who collaborates with global Marketing, global Product Development, Product Management, Regulatory, Quality, and Production personnel to assist with both strategic and tactical challenges. Typical activities will include new product development, reviewing plant data and suggesting operating changes to optimize production, and answering customer-related product questions. In addition, you will support the Daily Operations Team in a technical troubleshooting role.Formula for SuccessLeveraging your Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and hands-on experience working in an industrial laboratory or production support setting, you will analyze individual lab samples and prepare samples for internal and external submission, including preparation of Chain of Custody documentation.Successfully engaging across the business, you will closely collaborate with the Procurement and Quality departments to qualify new raw material sources.Using your practical knowledge and hands-on experience with natural products such as vegetable oils and plant extracts, and separation techniques of distillation and solvent extractions, you will support troubleshooting and optimization activities in the Production unit.Demonstrating your proven record of developing creative solutions or continuously improving systems and processes, you will work within global Product Development on short and long-term projects.Working with Product Management, you will identify new products that meet specific customer requirements.Your proven experience with performing and interpreting statistical analysis including in-depth interpretation of analytical data on ingredients, impurities and contaminants such as GC, and LC and the use of modeling software (e.g. JMP, Minitab) will be essential as you support capital investment teams by assisting with new process development, analyzing capability of technologies in a lab-scale setting, and developing internal standards and validation of new processes.Your ability to document via written reports and organize information will be a valued asset as you facilitate key knowledge transfer to site personnel.Your strong technical skills will serve you well as you support business activities to maximize value for co-products.Your commitment to innovation will be evident as you keep abreast of current literature for changes in agricultural processing that may require changes to the production process and analytical evaluation.Create Your Own Chemistry: What We Offer YouAdding value to our customers begins with adding value to you.
