Position Purpose:Cargill Salt is currently looking for a Production Supervisor at our Tampa, FL location. This position will be responsible for the general operation of all areas of plant production, including lean manufacturing initatives, and warehousing functions. This position supervises and develops direct reports, leads safety and process efficiency initiatives, and manages capital and expense projects.
This position is also responsible for lean manufacturing initatives. This position is accountable for leading a team of approximately 18 employees across all shifts. This position requires collaboration with other business functions; EHS, FSQR, Supply Chain, office personnel, and production team members to achieve goals.? ?The purpose of this position is to provide technical expertise and project leadership to: 1) New product development for product line growth 2) Process development for the creation of new capabilities 3) Creation, perfection, and defense of new and existing IP
Principal Accountabilities:30%? Coach, train and provide management support to employees to achieve their individual, department and location's goals.30% Process optimization-lean manufacturing; manage department budget, projects, and maintenance.20%? Manage and promote safety, food safety, quality processes and housekeeping.20% Ensure compliance with all Cargill, local, state, federal, and environmental guidelines and regulations.
Required Qualifications:??4 year degree.? In lieu of degree, 4 years manufacturing/operations experience.??Leads by holding self and others accountable; delivers on commitments.??Previous experience in a supervisory role, directly supervising and developing others??Mechanical aptitude demonstrated in previous roles ??Proven success in EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) ??Ability to create an environment conducive to teamwork; strong interpersonal skills ??Strong written and verbal communication skills??Work in/around processing and packaging departments??Occasional travel required for training??Develop experience gained through in-depth involvement with operations team.? Functional growth through involvement with other management professionals and corporate leadership.? Preferred Qualifications:??Engineering Degree??Previous experience with packaging equipment??Project management and equipment installation experience??Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows, and capacity to learn new computer systems ??Strong problem solving and decision making??Experience with SAP??LSS Green Belt Certification
