Production Technician – #01G1U
The Production Technicians are responsible for the safe and efficent operations of each chemcal manufacturing unit at the Luling Plant. The role will be responsible for the monitoring and control of the process from a control room environment as well as be responsible for field operations and monitoring with in the process structure. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintain a complete understanding of all operating procedures, compliance requirements (OSHA, DOT, ISO, etc…) plant quality and safety procedures and perform job duties in accordance.Monitor and control the unit operations via DCS systemsUtilize IP21 and other technology to monitor and troubleshoot process and equipment operationsMaintain complete communications documents including production logs and downtime recordsProvide information regarding operations and issues to appropriate resources including engineer and management.Complete notifications of equipment malfunctionsMonitor equipment and operating conditions in the fieldTake samples for quality control and regulatory purposesMake necessary process adjustments based on data inputMaintain good housekeepingAs necessary perform loading and unloading tasksParticipate in optimization effortsMaintain Compliance with all training needsQualifications:Required Qualifications:High School diploma or GED certificate requiredSuccessful completion of pre-employment apptitude test, structured interview and skill assessmentMinimum 3 years experience in chemical/petrochemical manufacturing operationsAbility to lift heavy objects, climb, work inside/outdoor environments, work in high places and confined spaces.Ability to continuously learn and adapt to change and function in a self-directed team environment.Ability to effectively communicate and interact with diverse groups of peopleMust have basic computer knowledgeStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to work 12 hour rotating shiftsAbility to routinely lift and transprt loads up to 50 lbs. Abilty to sit or stand for extended periods of time.Desired Education/SkillsAssociates degree in Process TechnologyExperience or understanding of plant operations with distributive control systems.Apply for this job.
