Project Cargo Sales Manager, Covington, LA

Consolidated Terminals and Logistics Co. (CTLC), a division of CGB Enterprises, Inc. provides handling, logistics, and transportation services for bulk, breakbulk, and project cargo commodities domestically and around the world. As with many divisions within CGB's family, our project cargo group developed naturally with the success of CTLC's business. Our teams of logistics professionals are there to reduce the headaches and give ease to moving project cargo. Using the most comprehensive resources in the industry, we offer a highly efficient and cost effective means of transporting your cargo whether it is by vessel, barge, truck, or rail.
Sales Manager Job Tasks:
This individual will be required to perform the following duties:
Be an active participant in CGB's Journey to Excellence program.

Develop and grow CTLC's and Cooper Consolidated's market share with companies within the specified business sectors and commodities. *
Analyze logistics patterns and develop new plans to handle potential and/or current customers' packages. *
Generate leads, arrange meeting and make presentations selling all of CTLC's and Cooper Consolidated's services. *
Follow up on self-generated leads and those provided by the terminal managers, the sales group, colleagues, etc. *
Attend industry related conferences, network, generate leads and follow up with contacts made. *
Analyze opportunities/projects/industry patterns and propose new locations/terminals/investments/services for CTLC and Cooper/Consolidated. *
Ensure that we are providing top-notch service to our customers by keeping constant communications with the Logistics group and the OPS group. *
Manage his/her accounts — ensuring that logistics/AR/risk/contractual matters are all under control. *
Develop/implement new procedures/methods to make the sales team better.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
College degree;

Minimum of 3-5 years Marine/Cargo experience; *
excellent interpersonal and communications; *
self-motivated; *
ability to gain customers and colleagues trust; *
ability to be a quick and outside the box thinker; *
ability to travel a minimum of 35% of the time; *
professional demeanor; *
proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Miscellaneous Requirements:
*
Must track all work sales progress in CRM. *
Communicate progress to appropriate supervising manager.
*
Must attend quarterly sales meetings.
*
Must take part in weekly conference calls.
*
Must represent CTLC and Cooper Consolidated in a professional and ethical manner.

Must visit CTLC's facility and be familiar with locations, capabilities and capacities. Other Considerations: The position will be located in Covington, Louisiana, approximately 35 miles north of New Orleans, Louisiana on the “Northshore” of Lake Pontchartrain. The area – comprised of the cities of Covington, Mandeville, and Abita Springs — is a charming, low-density southern Community comprised of residential neighborhoods, businesses, specialty shops, art galleries, and restaurants. Quality of life in this region is exceptional, with access to the culture of heritage of the Greater New Orleans region while enjoying a great climate & regional culture.

CGB Enterprises Inc. (CGB) is a private US corporation with foreign ownership (Japanese). The Zen-Noh group and the Itochu group are each 50% owners of CGB. The owners consider CGB to be a long term, strategic investment and have jointly owned CGB for 20+ years. Zen-Noh Grain Corporation (ZGC), which is one of CGB's shareholders, occupies the same corporate office as CGB. ZGC employs approximately 225 people in its operations. The company's primary business is the export grain business. ZGC is the 4th largest exporter of grains from the US. ZGC has operations in 3 states. The operations are centered at Convent, Louisiana where employees operate and manage one of the most modern and efficient export elevators in the world. Approximately 135 employees are employed at Convent working 24 hours per day, 365 days each year. There are currently no unions involved. Zen-Noh's trading and administrative offices employ approximately 40 employees in Covington, LA., and they have 50 (+/-) employees in the Portland, OR and Pasco, WA areas.
Both companies utilize a decentralized management structure led by division Vice Presidents or General Managers. The majority of CGB's and ZGC's corporate overhead functions are consolidated into one operation.
