Founded in 1818, the company is headquartered in White Plains, New York.Position Summary:The Project Manager for Bunges Oilseed Value Chain (OVC) will lead or participate in the safe design and construction of both Greenfield and existing oilseed facility projects for Bunge North America (BNA). The design and construction must align with strategic BNA initiatives, and maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local code requirements in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Associated work will include collaboration on or leadership of in-house design in concert with engineering firms for the successful completion of projects, utilizing a stage-gated approach. The incumbent will be responsible for engaging in all categories of projects, including: Project Execution, Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls, Risk, Business and Commercial, Information Management, Health-Safety-Environment, Quality, Staffing, and Operations.
Qualified candidates will coordinate with other corporate and Manufacturing Excellence (ME) entities in the aforementioned categories to manage capital projects that could exceed $5 M each. The incumbent will interface with senior level stakeholders on a regular basis. The candidate will provide project management expertise to the senior project manager while managing stakeholders across a diverse interface map.Core Functions:Assist with preparation and/or oversight of the development of design and feasibility studies for projects at BNA or greenfield facilities using a steadfast stage-gated project management approachDevelop and review project cost estimates and direct modifications as appropriate and requiredPrepare and/or review budgets for expenditures on outside consulting engineers and regularly review the work of consultantsReview equipment specification recommendations and review construction bid packagesPrepare and/or review and monitor controls on scheduling and project costsPrepare and/or assemble periodic project reports and engineering activities summaries for projects he/she is managingWork with the Senior Project Manager to evaluate, plan and develop capital expenditure projectsEnsure capital and expense projects are aligned with business unit objectives and completed safely within scope, schedule and budgetManage project submission process to include evaluation of projects, review of proposals and advise on project feasibilityProvide assistance to plant locations in identifying and developing projects resulting in added profit or cost savingsCommunicate and model good business practices that support the companys core values.Required Competencies:Leadership: Demonstrates the ability to motivate, energize, align and promote change in others related to a common purpose and objectives.Visioning and Alignment: Engages others by communicating a picture of future possibilities and shared purpose to work collectively toward common objectivesStrategic Thinking: Analyzes and applies a broad organizational and business perspective to identify and maintain focus on key drivers of organizational performance.Talent Management: Maximizes colleague capabilities by collaborating fluidly, providing ongoing feedback, and suggesting opportunities for growth and development.Relationship Management: Builds trusting, productive relationships with internal/external customers, team members, colleagues and stakeholders through transparent, genuine, influential communications.Business Management: Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, improve and execute activities related to business operations.Organizational Perspective: Adopts a systemic perspective, defining and leveraging the ideas, resources and unique perspectives of Bunges diverse local and global groups.Change and Innovation: Actively supports exploration of new ideas, calculated risk-taking and choices/initiatives that can make a significant impact.Performance and Results Orientation: Maintains focus on key performance drivers, continuously improves processes, and consistently delivers results.Skills/Experience Requirements:Bachelors degree in Engineering required; Mechanical, Chemical, or Agricultural related engineering preferred.A combination of experience as outlined below in any of the following sectors is required: Oilseeds Processing, Agriculture, Biofuels, Bio-Products, Pulp and Paper, Food and Beverage, or Specialty Chemicals. Some agricultural processing experience is required.Project Management: Candidate must have experience participating in projects greater than $2.5 M TIC. Minimum 7 years of combined project management and construction experience required.Engineering: Candidate shall have minimum 5 years of experience working with engineering colleagues across multiple disciplines.Procurement: Candidate will be required to collaborate with procurement staff throughout the project life cycle, from initial estimates through tender and final award.Project Controls: Candidate shall demonstrate ability to control Scope, Cost, and Schedule on all assigned projects.Risk: Candidate should have experience analyzing project risks throughout the project life cycle.Business and Commercial: Candidate should have experience assisting commercial and business development teams to develop financial models for projects.Information Management: Candidate should have project experience with collaboration software applications.Health-Safety-Environment: Candidate shall have minimum 5 years of experience in these key project categories directly or indirectly on projects. Asset-based experience and knowledge in NFPA 36 and 61 are a plus.Quality: Candidate should be familiar with Project Quality control techniques.Project Staffing: Candidate should have an understanding of how to develop and design organizational charts for projects.Operations: Candidate shall have minimum 2 years of experience working on an owners team at an operating asset.2 plus years of experience directly or indirectly managing others, including plant or multi-plant operationsDemonstrated leadership skills including building and motivating teamsDemonstrated proficiency with applicable computer software packagesExceptional verbal, written, listening and presentation communication skillsStrong work ethic with excellent interpersonal skillsSchedule:Full-time position, typically 40-50 hours a week, but additional hours required as dictated by demands of the businessApproximately 25-50% travel, sometimes with short notice and extended stays to BNA facilities in the U.S., Canada and MexicoPhysical Requirements:Walking on catwalks at a variety of heightsClimbing stairs and laddersOccasional lifting of up to 50 poundsBendingStoopingWorking at heights of up to 200 ft. with appropriate safety equipmentWorking outdoors in a broad range of climate conditionsWorking around operating machinery a
