In addition, Zoetis will never ask candidates to make any type of personal financial investment related to gaining employment with Zoetis.The Protein Therapeutics Group, Global Therapeutics Research, is seeking a talented immunoinformatics scientist with experience in exploring immunoglobulin repertoire diversity and enrichment following vaccination. This scientist will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working with multiple species generating monoclonal antibodies utilizing a variety of state of the art single B-cell technologies. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in a matrixed team environment and have the ability to communicate complex data to non-bioinformatics experts. Experience working in a high performance computing environment and managing all types of large, complex biological data is essential. Wet lab experience with single B-cell technologies preferred.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:*Isolation of antigen-specific B-cells from a variety of lymphoid tissues or blood* Solid understanding of molecular biology, genomics and next generation sequencing technologies like illumina and 10x.*Experience making next generation sequencing library preps including illumina, Single cell libraries and also running samples on high throughput sequencers.*Experience analyzing large bioinformatics sequencing datasets – with Antibody sequences is desirable.*Experience interpreting data analysis results and linking the results with systems biology, in the context of immunology is desirable.*Ability to write code (one of the following languages – Bash, Linux or Python) and prior experience working in high performance cluster or cloud environment is required.*Prior knowledge applying statistics and mathematical models to large datasets is highly desirable. *Proficiency in analyzing large datasets generated from DNA, RNA and protein sequences. *Experience assembling IgG repertoires from enriched populations of B-cells to assess antigen specific repertoire expansion*Maintain up-to-date developments in algorithms for analysis of next-generation sequencing and applications of sequencing or collection of big data into health solutions*Experience with systems biology approaches to elucidate complex physiological processes leading to health outcomes in animals Critical thinking and excellent communication and presentation skills are essentialEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:* Educational background: PhD (bioinformatics, genomics, animal genetics, immunology or related field) or non-PhD with at least 3 years relevant experience* Experience in data management, analysis and interpretation of omics data from mammalian sources. Self-starter, able to prioritize work, and work efficiently with minimal supervision* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to design, interpret, and present complex scientific data in a team environment is required*Familiarity with various programming languages and software packages including: R, LINUX, CLC Genomics Workbench, GoldenHelix SNP & Variation Suite and Ingenuity pathway analysis IPA is desired.Apply for this job.
