Purchasing Assistant – SEEDWAY – Elizabethtown, PA
?Seedway is?headquartered in Hall, New York with branches in Pennsylvania, Florida, Vermont, Maine, and New York. Seedway has?about 220?employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 15,000 customers.?The cooperative does business in farm, vegetable, and turf seed.?Seedway is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.?PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT?Provides support to purchasing process, including inventory review, seed purchase, and inbound logistics.??ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS?Purchases seed and other products and executes purchase orders?Monitors inventories and product demand?Schedules deliveries and coordinates inbound transportation?Coordinates custom seed treatments and coatings?Tabulates product forecasts?Maintains and distributes product issue and excess inventory reports?Resolves issues that arise with vendors pertaining to products of A/P conflicts?Facilitates information between customer service, sales force and product managers regarding product availability, seed shortages, product performance issues and other information as needed?Works with Purchasing Agent, Product Managers, Order Facilitator and Warehouse Manager to ensure smooth order flow??OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS?Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing?Follows GROWMARK?s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply?Performs all other duties as assigned??REQUIREMENTS?Normally requires an Associate?s Degree, or the equivalent thereof, and 1 ? 3 years or more of clerical related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of professional communication skills, typing proficiency and Microsoft Office programs.?Prefer experience with J D Edwards system.?Must have and maintain a valid driver?s license and satisfactory driving record.?Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.?Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK?s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.??We are an equal opportunity employer, including protected veterans and qualified individuals with disabilities.
