Come grow with us!?General Purpose and Scope of Position:This position is responsible for the coordination of product acquisition, shipment and product transfers across locations to ensure movement of product inventory based on customer/branch needs. The position also aids in all aspects of customer service including product sourcing, order processing and inventory coordination. Successful performance in the role relies on timely and accurate agricultural chemical ordering and understanding timely inventory supply.?Key Skills and Abilities Include:High School graduate or equivalentMinimum of 2 years? previous experience within the agricultural chemical industryMinimum of 2 years? previous experience in a purchasing roleAbility to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages and ratios to practical applicationsMust be able to read, analyze and interpret written procedures and reportsPrevious experience with JD Edwards Enterprise Resource Planning order entry system, preferred. This includes taking orders, sourcing materials, processing orders and preparing paperwork for pickup or delivery and completing applicable paperwork in an accurate and timely manner to ensure satisfactory invoicing/billing.Responsibility for coordination of transfers of product between branches, including contacting trucking companies to coordinate shipments and instruct drivers on requirements of the loads as needed to facilitate product movementResponsible for Inventory tracking and control, including conducting physical inventory counts of products stored in warehouses and bulk storage areas as requiredHandles operation of truck scale and completion of weight tags, bills of lading and hazardous materials shipping papers to ensure accurate, consistent and efficient traffic movementResponsible for answering and responding to customer inquiries and requests for orders (telephone, computer and walk-in traffic) and inquiries about product orders in a timely, accurate and appropriate mannerCommunicates directions and instructions, both verbally and in writing, to customers, vendors, other employees and the publicResponsible for conversion of volumetric measurements and calculation of total quantities of products by weight and/or volumetric measurementsPresents a professional image to customers in all interactions (verbal, computer and in-person) and in personal appearanceMakes use of standard office equipment: computer software and programs, fax machines, postage machines, copier machines, etc. to effectively perform all aspects of position responsibilitiesAssists with electronic order entry and processing (sales orders, shipping documents, invoicing) utilizing JD Edwards Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) softwareProvides backup and assistance to other purchasing assistants and/or receptionist, including answering phonesProactively seeks and participates in available company-sponsored training, to develop and advance skill set and knowledge baseFollows all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbookPerforms all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner?Compensation and Benefits:Competitive hourly wage depending on experienceEmployee health and retirement benefit offering?Job Code: PURCH03177Apply for this job.
