CHS Larsen Coop has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Purchasing Specialist to purchase all feed ingredients for a feed plant business unit. Provide excellent customer service to our customers. Customer focused and work independently within a team atmosphere. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be detail oriented and organized.You will:Negotiate with ingredient suppliers and purchase all feed ingredients for business unit.Create and place purchase orders with vendors via phone, fax, e-mail, internet.Manage logistics (railcar and truck) to ensure ingredient supply is allocated to plants on a timely basis. Provide weekly price updates to formulations for weekly price sheet and contract pricing.Anticipate supplier shutdowns and find alternative suppliers when needed. Review internal purchase requisitions and ensure general ledger account codes are accurate.Ensure accuracy of invoices for goods & services received and work with vendors to resolve any discrepancies. Ensure that all purchases made to a specific vendor are accounted for and are entered accurately on the purchase requests.Build strong working relationships and communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, customers, peers and management.Provide customer support regarding ordering, invoicing, disputes, investigations and invoicing corrections.Manage contract fulfillment and provide customers with release numbers. Utilize feed mill software to enter product/ingredient receivers with landed cost on shipments, create contracts, invoice contracts, finalize settlements and complete inventory transfers.Provide customer service and support on scaling inbound and outbound products.Process invoices and sales transactions and resolved any issues with billing and/or vendors.Manage contract information.Enter bag and feed orders as they are received from customers.Invoice direct product shipments, plus landed cost on inbound and outbound shipments.Acquire a thorough understanding of formulation changes so feed tags can be updated for product shipments.Support the Commodities and Feed businesses as needed on projects and eventsPerform other duties as needed or assigned.Work extended hours as needed. Office hours: 7:00-5:00 p.m.Basic Qualifications: (required)Associate?s degree5 years of Agriculture experience in purchasing and risk management to include:Commodity markets and hedgingLogistics operationsWorking experience with daily position reports (DPRs)1 plus years of customer service experience to include account management and data entryProficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Preferred Qualifications: (desired)Degree in Ag Business, Ag Economics or Supply Chain ManagementMerchandising experienceBook keeping or customer service experienceFeed mill management softwareApply for this job.
