We currently have an IT QA Engineer III or IV position available at our Simplot Headquarters in Boise, ID.SUMMARYThe IT Quality Assurance Engineer position designs and implements automation solutions. Defines and coordinates what needs to be tested and to what degree to achieve maximum solution quality. Responsible for planning and testing the functionality of software & hardware platforms to ensure the stability & reliability of production platforms. Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs to verify program's function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines. Responsible for the maintenance of the test automation framework, providing support and guidance for test automation activities. Provides assessment of overall software quality based on established guidelines.RESPONSIBILITIESEvaluate and coordinate delivery of what needs to be tested & degree of testing to ensure proper testing coverage is achieved.Recommends areas of applications and services where automation would be beneficial.Create and maintain test automation frameworks.Automation of test scenarios for regression testing and support for continuous integration.Develops and maintains tools for automation tracking and reporting.Develops systems and processes to refine efficiency of automated testing solutions.Provide specialized testing including performance, volume and stress testing.Own the testing process throughout entire project life to include:Provide test work effort and resource estimates.Collaborate with business analysts, developers, stakeholders and product owners to clarify requirements.Attend project team meetings and consult on all testing matters.Ensure testability, consistency and completeness of requirements and/or user stories.Identify required test environments, test data and access for test activities.Provide test status, results and metrics.Identify and communicate potential risks as it relates to testing.Develop and maintain detailed test plan. Communicate and gain a common understanding and approval of the test plan.Create and/or coordinate required test cases to ensure adequate coverage for the proposed solution. This may include positive, negative, boundary, regression, performance, load and other test types.Perform and/or coordinate system and systems integration testing, covering all requirements as captured in the development requests and functional specifications.Identify, document, communicate and manage defects.
