Learn more at .www.adm.com Quality Assurance Manager – Decatur, IL BioProducts This is a full-time, exempt position.Essential Functions Maintains responsibility for insuring that finished products are in compliance with customer expectations.Participates in the establishment of quality specifications and standards for raw materials and for in-process and finished products.Develops and recommends inspection and sampling techniques and quality control plans.
Develops process control procedures and methods that will insure production of finished products, which meet quality specifications and standards.Brings deviations from internal specifications of products to the attention of manufacturing management, making recommendations for corrective actions, when warranted.Installs and supervises inspection and testing procedures for raw materials, and for in-process and finished products.May visit customers and suppliers when necessary to confer on specific quality problems.Reviews complaints received from customers with process and engineering personnel for the purpose of determining where quality control emphasis should be placed at the plants to eliminate problems.
May communicate with customers by telephone in the interest of resolving quality issues.Provides technical assistance to Purchasing Department in connection with the purchase of raw materials, supplies and equipment.Works closely with manufacturing personnel in determining required specifications of raw materials, and establishing realistic manufacturing processes designed to achieve desired results.Maintains close contact with engineering and manufacturing personnel to resolve problems concerning design, specifications, materials, and production operations affecting quality.Maintains standards for the performance of quality staff members, conducting performance appraisals, and making recommendations to insure the appropriate compensation of employees.Interfaces with outside governmental agencies, and insures that the company is in compliance with applicable regulations.Identifies the means by which department procedures can be improved, and maximizes efficiencies by implementing such improvements.Maintains responsibility for the training of staff members, scheduling work, and conducting weekly meetings of department personnel.Attends meetings periodically with manufacturing and engineering personnel to resolve customer complaints and to review production schedules.Performs reasonably similar duties that may be required for the successful administration of the function.Performs work in a safe manner and demonstrates leadership by example in safety programs.
Experience Required Previous management/leadership experience (preferably in a manufacturing quality role) 3-5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance preferred.Relocation assistance is available with this position.
