Quality Assurance Supervisor
DuPont?s Memphis site has an opening for a Quality Assurance Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Quality Control Microbiological Laboratory including, but not limited to, managing costs, laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance, human resources to analyzing lab performance for continuous improvement. Utilize your leadership skills by overseeing food safety initiatives in the plant, supporting customer and regulatory audits as needed, conducting documentation reviews of Quality and Food Safety SOPs, Work Instructions (WI) and ensuring product testing is completed in a timely manner to meet production and customer needs. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to: Supervise assigned staff in their performance of laboratory duties; assign work based on skill levels, difficulty, and evaluate performance; create daily schedule.Assist in providing site leadership input on Food Safety and Customer Satisfaction.Be backup and/or help lead the Food Safety Programs in the plant as well as become a SQF PractionerProvide guidance in establishing and maintaining departmental policy and procedures.Assist with the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures that impact the site and laboratory.Set and maintain sanitation standards, maintain and enhance laboratory safety, manage inventory to maintain laboratory functions, establish and monitor preventative maintenance schedules for laboratory equipment.Champion Quality, Sanitation, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP compliance at the site.Interact regularly with engineering, manufacturing and service functions to establish quality standards for raw materials, work in progress and finished products.Assist with inspection and quality activities to meet specifications and quality standards.Provide guidance on food safety and customer satisfaction, including an active role in investigating customer complaints and supporting customer audits.Oversees product testing and batch allocation to ensure it happens in a timely manner to meet customer orders.Administers employee training programs related to GMPs, Food Safety and Food DefenseAnalyze and document department processes and opportunities. Develop solutions to improve efficiency. Assist in budget, lab expansions, equipment procurement and special requests. Qualifications: In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following: Bachelors of Science Degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry, or related fieldsThree (3) to Five (5) years in Quality or Quality related experienceExperience and knowledge with microbiological testing and/or managing a microbiological laboratory Knowledge of Quality Control Procedures, Standard Analytical and Microbiological Methods Used for Testing, and Environmental Programs.Understanding of Laboratory Equipment Setup, Operation, Troubleshooting, and Maintenance. Knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP and GMP.Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Organized, results driven, and self-motivatedAbility to drive continuous improvementCommunicate effectively orally and in writing and work effectively within teamsAbility to manage peopleInterpret and explain policies and procedures The following are preferred: One (1) year with supervisory experienceSQF certification experience, HACCP Certification, PCQI certificationExperience managing broad range of quality-related functions, including HACCP plans, GMP?s, GFSISAP or LIMS experienceFood industry/background DuPont is an equal opportunity employer.
