Position Duties and Responsibilities:
The Quality Assurance Technician will support the implementation and enforcement of the Quality and Food Safety Management System requirements throughout all of the manufacturing process in order to ensure compliance with company policies, FDA cGMP, and Industry standards. Responsible for daily QA function within a food processing plant. Must be detail orientated and can perform various quality inspection duties, document results and assist in determining corrective action. Promote Quality and Food Safety awareness and commitment. Communicate and work with other departments to support Quality and Food Safety and continuous improvement programs related to the quality system. Support the development and delivery of training.
Pre-operational sanitation checklist for Plant areas and equipment.Perform operational food safety / sanitation checklist for Plant areas and equipment as required.Daily, Conduct Pre-operational, changeover inspections of equipment and areas in regards to cGMP, housekeeping, product changeover and sanitation activities.
Clean and sanitize QA equipment and areas. Notify management of non-conformance issues. When product is found to be out of specification, put product on HOLD following SOP.
Perform ATP test after deep cleaning procedures and after allergen productions. Determine conformance or non-conformance issues, and take corrective action when necessary.
Periodic Line studies to pinpoint sources of increased micro count on product.Follow all company policies, cGMP, Food Safety, OHSA Safety regulations, QMS and SOP / SSOPs.Must have strong quality and food safety technical skills and problem solving / organizational skills (cGMPs, basic microbiology, IPM, hygienic design, and sanitation).Must be able to read written Instruction, QMS, SOP, SSOP and write production quality reporting on documentation or in computer data base programs.
Accurate documentation, interpretation of policies and implementation of plant programs is critical to the efficient operation of the plant. Coordination with the Plant Management on cGMPs, HACCP/Food Safety, Sanitation, Maintenance, plant operations, personnel issues and safety programs . Monitors production compliance to HACCP Plan. Raw product integrity: Check traceability records, compare with actual lot numbers, and correct any discrepancies. Color test, moisture test and water adsorption test. Periodic Audit of Recipes to see if followed. Dryer operation; Check all temperatures and humidity on dryers and record on Daily Temperature Log sheet.
Product condition after dryer.
Collect records from previous day?s production. Collect and maintain reference samples for all products manufactured daily for analysis. Conduct product organoleptic analysis. Monitor all areas of production; At least, every 2 hour make a production inspection for to ensure specifications are met, including the moisture and texture of the dough,Packing machine operation, package seals, packaging weight, Metal detector checks; when product rejected by Metal Detector, QA must inspect product following SOP. Proper packaging (Carton, film bag) Lotcode, best by and or expiry dates are correct.
Case box product label, Product ink jet print and lotcode date, best by and or expiry dates are correct.
Enforce cGMPs and safety regulations, conduct food safety and sanitation internal inspections, and participate in customer and third party audits.
Submits work orders for Maintenance.
Prepare sanitizer solutions, monitor use on production areas.
Check sanitizer and soap concentration once a week using test kit. Assist in the preparation and control of department expense budgets. Assist in the development of the capital budget. Available to work on any shift and weekends and to work extended hours. Other duties as assigned. Work overtime as required. Relocation assistance is not available with this position.
