About this Job
Perform QC laboratory chemical analysis to support production. This includes analysis of process intermediates, pesticide active ingredients and agricultural formulations. The test methods, in most part, are established and routine. Report results to the production units from which the samples originated. Follows all procedures and requirements to ensure full compliance with the site Quality Management System, and Syngenta manufacturing and quality control specifications. This is an entry level laboratory position. Working 12 hour rotating shifts between days and nights is required.
Provides analytical support and data to production units to ensure efficient operation and
production of quality products.
Provides accurate, timely, and defensible data to production units.
Ensures that all reported data are produced following established SOPs and QA/QC
Perform preventative maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment as directed.
Maintain retention sample storage area.
Assist in general housekeeping for the laboratory including proper disposal of chemicals.
Follows all safety and environmental procedures to eliminate or minimize incidents.
Reports non-conformances, according to established procedures and criteria, and
assists in corrective action where appropriate.
Participates in internal quality audits as scheduled or as needed Skills:
Essential Knowledge & Experience
Analytical procedures SOPs, operation of laboratory instruments and equipment GC, HPLC, viscometer, densitometer, particle size analyzer, pH meter, titration, good housekeeping and laboratory practices, QA/QC procedures, SPC, and computer operation.
Laboratory equipment operation, project planning, proper documentation, effective communication, basic math, use of Microsoft Office programs. Critical experience:
Minimum four year college degree with science major chemistry degree desired, or high school diploma with minimum of 5 years industrial QC laboratory experience.
