Quality Control Laboratory Technician – 2nd shift
DuPont has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Laboratory Technician in our Quality Control group. As a Quality Control Laboratory Technician, you report to the Quality Control Supervisor and will be responsible for performing various microbiology lab test and analyses. This position operates in a laboratory environment 95-100% of the time. Exposure to hazardous materials training is required, and you must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as appropriate in accordance with our plant policy. As the Laboratory Technician, you will work on a 2nd shift schedule Wednesday – Sunday 2:30pm – 11:00pm. Occasional overtime will be required as needed. Responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):Ensure adherence to all quality systems including, but not limited to, ISO 9001 and Food Safety, with an understanding of DuPont???s Quality Policy and procedures. Comply with all Company policies including, but not limited to, Quality, Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, GMP's, HAACP, and Attendance. Perform routine lab testing with accurate and timely recording of test results into the SAP Quality Management module and utilize lab reference materials for information regarding testing. Assist Q.C. Team members by being responsive to any problems relative to Q.C. laboratory functions and by quickly and efficiently alleviating difficulties as necessary. Participate in team meetings to help outline work schedules and priorities. Understand and follow procedures of the department for the proper calibration and use of the department's equipment. Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices for the care, handling and storage of food products; and report any known or observed violations to management. Utilize HACCP philosophy and procedures in everyday work routine. Complete the ordering and maintain adequate stock of lab supplies and chemicals in con-junction with other Q.C. Laboratory Team members. Perform environmental sampling procedures. Follow and enforce laboratory safety procedures.Qualifications:The following are required:At least two (2) years of related work experience, or an Associate???s degree or equivalent in Microbiology, Biology, or related field. Knowledge of the analyses and tests performed in the Quality Control department. The ability to work as an active team member as well as independently. Strong math and communication skills (both verbal and written).The DuPont Nutrition & Health plant (formerly Danisco) manufactures a variety of food products and ingredients used in everyday food items including: starter cultures used in the production of cheese, yogurt, buttermilk, sour cream; probiotic cultures used for their health promoting effects on the digestive system of humans and animals; and other food ingredients as well.Apply for this job.
