We have an immediate full time opening for a Quality / Environmental Manager at our Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP) manufacturing facility in Bushnell, IL.
Detailed responsibilities for this position include:
Implement and maintain Prerequisite, Food Safety, and Quality Programs, and ensure the facility maintains GFSI certification (SQF)Identify and report food safety and/or product integrity issues, identify root cause(s), initiate and implement corrective and preventive action, and document such activitiesLead the food safety team for the facility, act as the Preventive Controls Qualified Individual for the facilityEnsure that the HACCP/HARPC risk assessment is current and is updated as neededEnsure that process validations for preventive controls such as biological kill steps are current and updated as neededCommunicate and review any information deemed necessary, including but not limited to, food safety, product integrity, formulas, specifications and/or changes, with customersEstablish and maintain product sampling matrices, product specifications and sight samples, communicate revisions to necessary personnel as neededConduct Monthly Food Safety Audits, compile results and deficiencies into audit reports, assign and verify corrective actions related to audit findingsParticipate in continuous improvement efforts within the facilityOversee the following programs and communicate trends/issues to the management team:Good Manufacturing PracticesOverall Plant SanitationProduct TraceabilityRecall Program / Mock Recall ExercisesPest ManagementMeasuring DevicesStatistical Process Control, where applicableFormal ReleaseEnvironment Monitoring Technical job training/documentation for Quality TechniciansAnnual employee training in food safety and quality topicsCustomer complaint resolution, complete with root cause analysis and appropriate corrective actionPrograms supporting product claims and certifications, such as NonGMO, Kosher, Halal, etc.Product labeling and label controlsProduction and laboratory sampling and testing methodsInteract with plant personnel to collect/verify routine data necessary for environmental reporting and record keeping requirementsMaintain (annual refresher and new) training of employees as required by EMS / Environmental program; attend your training as requiredUse all phases of GEMINI as they apply to the facility ? monitor, complete tasks on timeMaintain and improve the Environmental Management System Maintain and update the Environmental site-level plans, policies, and procedures Implement new Environmental program content as it is handed to the facilityStore records on the Environmental Records Library, and incidents in the Sphera Cloud reporting tool
Understand and maintain compliance with report deadlines, practices, issued policies, rules, regulations, and standards as required by the Environmental programMaintain communication of site activities and data for Environmental matrix to divisional environmental managementRequirements for this position include a Bachelor?s degree in a technical field (or equivalent relevant experience with high school diploma) and 5+ years of relevant quality and/or environmental experience in a manufacturing environment. The preferred candidate will have HACCP, PCQI, GFSI, Food Safety/Sanitation, Environmental Management Systems, and Laboratory Equipment training. Candidate should be able to work with the site team, and work independently at times, in order to and to follow through on completing tasks, documenting results, and maintaining compliance.
