This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. QUALIFICATIONS: – Need a passion for agriculture, ranching, as well as farming. Someone trustworthy, honorable, and reliable to run the operation as if it were their own- College Degree is a plus, but not required. School of hard knocks is fine too, with 10+ years of experience with cows and 5+ years with small grains preferred- 3+ years of supervisory and leadership experience is preferred- Strong cattle skills are needed for calving, animal health to diagnosing and treating as needed. BQA Training is a plus- Experience operating equipment with routine equipment repairs and maintenance skills- Responsible for specific tasks, but willing to lead and jump in all areas when help is needed JOB DESCRIPTION: Hansen Agri-Placement is searching for a Ranch/Farm Foreman for an operation located in southwestern Oklahoma. The main focus is with the ranch operation and working with the cattle, but person also needs to know how to operate equipment for winter wheat. Looking for a person with a passion for agriculture. Need to be a team player, have good communications skills, and able to assist in all areas of the operation when needed. Need person who is a self-starter, capable of thinking on their own and able to see the big picture. Really prefer good maintenance and general repair skills. The forage resources are winter wheat pasture, native and improved grass pastures. They harvest limited cash crops, primarily focusing on forage to support the livestock enterprise. Farm typically maintain about 300 mother cows and run their calves on wheat pasture and may purchase additional stockers depending on the quality of wheat pasture. Stocker cattle are sold in the spring off graze out wheat to feedlots. Farm currently employees one full time and two part-time employees.Reason for Position: A long time employee recently resigned to return to his home leaving the farm with decreased experience. Owner is aging and without on-site family and is wanting to decrease day to day total management of the operation. Owner is currently very involved in the operation and looking to hire a working foreman with future potential. Owner's long-term goal is to systematically over time decrease his role in selected management tasks. This goal, of course, is predicated on successfully locating an individual or couple with the correct potential, expertise, ability and personal qualifications.
