Person will be responsible for the general operations of a 4000+ acre family ranch, with a focus on hay & animal management, oversight of employees, management of accounts receivable/payable, maintenance of all structures and equipment, and preservation of the water rights and integrity of the property. The manager will be expected to live on-site and will be provided with nice housing and a ranch truck as part of the benefit package. The ranch has been family owned for 30 years and the current manager will be available to train the new manager and assist in the transition.Duties:?Directs and participates in all general business operations involving the running of a ranch including but not limited to:Hay Operations:- Operate and maintain records for field irrigation- Oversee the seeding & fertilizer program to maintain hay pasture health- Maintain & service all hay equipment as well as make repairs as needed- Cut, bale, stack & market hayAnimal wellbeing and care:- Oversee the health of ranch horses including feeding, grooming, and shoeing- Oversee summer steer program- 700-800 steers brought in for summer grazing, coordinate loading/unloading and manage the herd while onsiteHuman Resources:- Plan and direct the activities of ranch employees- Facilitate employee orientation, development & safety trainingOperations:?This is a working ranch manager position and the manager must be able to perform physical, strenuous work alongside other employees- Coordinate and manage purchasing materials & equipment- Inspect and maintain all ranch buildings, roads, and fences- Maintain financial, operational, production and employment records- Interact with owner?s family use of ranch and prioritize their enjoyment of the ranch- Demonstrate and implement safety techniques with all ranch employees- Work with owners to build procedures and systems to increase revenue and control expenses- Assist in forest maintenance and reforestation??BENEFITS:?Nice House, Work Vehicle, Health Insurance Allowance??ALL INQUIRIES ARE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL.
