Come grow with us!?General Purpose and Scope of Position:The Rebate Accountant | Analyst is responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial statements, analyzing trends, creating reports and explaining variances to help predict future income specifics to overall rebates. This role is responsible for maintaining a thorough understanding of Wilbur-Ellis business processes to ensure that the cost system functionality and performance meet current and future business requirements. This role will be involved in designing and implementing a new process related to rebate accounting while working with the supply chain management organization to insure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and will be the primary accounting lead related to implementing a new rebate management system. The successful individual must be extremely customer service oriented to succeed in this environment.?Key Skills and Abilities Include:In-depth knowledge of Accounting principles and practicesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to handle multiple responsibilities effectivelyAdvanced proficiency with MS Excel and other database toolsSolid experience using ERP and Financial Analytic systemsTwo years' Accounting experience?Bachelor degree in Accounting?Intermediate to advance excel skills required. SQL skills preferred.CPA or CMA preferredExcellent communication skills in working with resources from varying levels within the organizationStrong analytical skills, problem solving, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively?Key Personal Attributes Include:Highly motivated, organized and detail orientedStrong organizational skills including ability to documentTeam orientation and attitudeExcellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skillsMust be customer service oriented?Highly motivated, organized, detail oriented?Team player??Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:Rebate Accounting Responsibilities:Responsible for implementing and Integrating accounting portion of new Rebate management systemEnsures Rebates are recorded in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Research and document the impact of more complex accounting principles specific to vendor rebate programsPrepares/reviews fluctuations of certain financial statement activities specific to vendor rebate programsIdentify, propose and implement process improvements or accounting changes to simplify or streamline the process and ensure accuracy in the accounting of rebate incomeManage and reconcile vendor agreements within rebate management system?Other Cost Accounting Responsibilities:Prepares routine and ad hoc reporting accompanied by the required supporting documentationAnalyze and review inventory costing; verify reasonableness of standard and weighted average costAnalyze and review inventory adjustments; verify reasonableness and identify process issuesReview Purchase Price Variance account and assist Accounts Payable with cost adjustmentsMonth end activities; Review gross margins, monitoring stuck sales, book Alliance gross margins splits, reconcile unvouchered account, analyze and accrue Agency commissionSet up new JBU?s (Branch Locations) and support branches in sub location set upAbility to analyze and provide solutions for business issuesAbility to communicate problem areas for trainingActively involved in utilization of the inventory cycle count programDocument work instructions and standard operating proceduresDetermine test requirements and review test results for evaluating system changesRun and analyze exception reporting to validate system data integrity?Performing other duties as assigned?Compensation and Benefits:Competitive annual salary (to be determined based on experience and other factors)Comprehensive employee health and retirement benefit offerings?Qualifications?Education?RequiredBachelors or better in Accounting or related field.?Experience?Required2 years:?Account experience?Licenses & Certifications?PreferredCert Public Accountant?Job Code: STAFF03099Apply for this job.
