Refinery Superintendent ? Memphis, TNOilseeds Division ? COTTONSEED PROCESSINGThis is an exempt level position. The Memphis facility is a cottonseed crushing facility that includes a refinery for bleaching and deodorizing cottonseed oil. This is a union facility with a workforce of approximately 60 hourly employees and 17 salaried employees.The skills necessary to be successful include an understanding of oilseed processing and the ability to lead and manage priorities in areas including plant and personnel safety, administration of corporate and plant policies, quality control, environmental compliance, production, cost management, capital disciplines and food safety.
The successful candidate will have the responsibility to direct the daily operation of prep, extraction, miscella-refining bleaching, deodorizing and oil loading/unloading.
Responsibilities include: ? Display a commitment to lead, participate and support ongoing safety including values based safety efforts. ? Direct the daily operations of prep, extraction miscella-refining, bleaching, deodorizing and oil loading/unloading, which include safety and environmental compliance, food safety, quality control, production, cost optimization and efficiencies.? Understanding of operations, rules, regulations, policies and have the ability to communicate those requirements effectively to the workforce. ? Maintain good working relationships with all employees. Maintain inventory of incoming ingredients.
Manage completion of GMP Audit and sanitation items throughout the facility. ? Provide solutions and promote teamwork amongst the various groups such as production, maintenance and lab.Qualifications and competencies: ? A strong understanding of the process and the ability to lead.? Excellent communication skills to provide guidance and feedback. ? Results driven to provide support to achieve the goals established by management. ? The ability to provide motivation to the direct reports and demonstrate leadership qualities to all plant personnel. ? Problem solving skills and sound decision making are necessary to be successful. ? An Engineering degree or equivalent is preferred.Relocation assistance is available with this position.
