Join Farmers Edge today to advance your career and help us support more growers across the globe!?Location: Negotiable preferred locations are Ames, Fargo, Wichita, or Rockford.?The Regional Agronomist is a leadership role focused on strategically positioning Farmers Edge as a leading edge agronomic technology company. ?Within the framework of precision agriculture, the Regional Agronomist provides scientific and technical support to our teams in the mid-west. ?Serving as an industry expert, the Regional Agronomist's professional development goals will focus on emerging agronomic issues, leading to the effective communication, training, and skill development required to support the regional and global team at the leading edge of precision agronomy.?Duties may include the following:Work with clients and partners to initiate and manage internal and external contract crop production research and development projects.Collaborate with members of the Global Agronomy team to develop regionally relevant agronomic training programs to meet the growing needs of the corporation and industry.Act as a training leader for the region, working with Hub Operations Managers, Precision Agronomists and Technology Specialists to provide mentorship in areas of specific crop production disciplines with emphasis in Precision or Variable Rate agriculture practices.Identify and interact with potential corporate clients and partners, creating opportunities and initiating the development of new products and services.Working with existing and developing industry programs, facilitate implementation of agronomic sustainability initiatives and sustainable management practices with our teams and growers.Assist Agronomy Hotspots during key seasons (recommendation writing, zoning, etc.)Support sales in higher level sales callsParticipate in trade show panel discussions as a subject matter expert on Farmers Edge agronomy practices.Research cropping practices and programs in new territories being explored for sales.?Education and Experience:Minimum of 10 years directly related work experience in mid-western cropping systems.Minimum Masters degree from a recognized agricultural college or university in a field with emphasis on soil science, plant science or crop production is preferred.Candidates must currently be Certified Crop Advisors (or be willing and eligible to pursue CCA designation immediately).?Compensation: ?Farmers Edge offers a very competitive compensation package.
