Regional Quality and Food Safety Manager ? Stockton, Lodi, and Modesto, CAThis is an exempt level position. Position Summary:We are seeking a Regional Quality/Food Safety (QFS) Manager with initiative, flexibility, a positive attitude, & the desire to learn the business.
This role will be responsible for identifying & communicating food safety & quality issues to the GPTN management team.
This individual will also assist in the implementation of corrective & preventative actions as needed.
This role will play vital role in ensuring compliance with regulatory, corporate, customer & 3rd party audit requirements & specifications.
In addition, this position will be directly involved in the ongoing development, implementation & improvement of the local Quality Management System.
It is the expectation that the QFS Manager will actively participate in continuous improvement objectives in order to meet or exceed customer requirements & business goals.
This position reports directly to the director of food safety and quality for Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts. Job Responsibilities:
Supervises food safety and quality colleagues at multiple work sitesAssist in monitoring the results of raw material, in-process product, & finished product testing for compliance with specifications.
Notify General Manager of deviations & help to make ship/no ship decisions. Daily monitoring of the day-to-day facility processing operations to ensure adherence to all regulatory standards, including equipment inspection & participation in pre-operational start-up proceduresIdentify potential sources of contamination within each product flow & assist in foreign material investigations.
Assess product quality risk as needed in determination of final product dispositionCreate & implement internal monitoring audits.
Notify the General Manager & production team of non-conformances & assist in implementing corrective actions.Assist in developing, implementing & validating science based HACCP plans, associated prerequisite programs, & SOPs for each process area within the facility.Maintain audit-ready status of plant & prepare for 3rd party & customer auditsLead role in conduct internal food safety, GMP audits, & SOP auditsTrack & trend data to ensure new trends are not developing.
Assist in developing & implementing a plan of action to improve areas identified for improvementDevelopment & implementation of training programs to instruct employees to monitor & document HACCP, SOP, & other required functionsMaintain daily records of HACCP, SOP & regulatory paperwork, reviewing to assure the production of safe & wholesome food productsConduct food safety meetings
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
BS in a Food Science or a related field required.Previous supervision of QC/QA department in the food processing industry requiredSolid understanding of HACCP & Quality Management Systems through HACCP certification and/or inspection & auditing certificationEffective written & verbal communication skills to all levels & functions of employeesProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsWillingness to work overtime & we
