Purpose and Scope: The Regional Quality Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and successfully executing all aspects of the quality systems at the plant level. This will include coordinating with local quality managers to manage the communication, execution, and training for all policy systems that relate to BWAY systems, customer systems, and all aspects of maintaining adherence to regulatory agencies. This role will also coordinate projects and training support to the operations teams. The Regional QM ensures responsiveness and timelines of projects, programs, and management of personnel to meet and/or exceed our customers’ expectations. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: • The Quality Manager will be responsible for implementation of process improvement with the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC), measurement analysis. • Define project management for new products and projects in regards to customer requirements utilizing tools such as: Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), process flow mapping, control plan documentation and Capability Analysis. • This position will ensure costs of quality (CoQ) metrics that are aligned with the company’s strategic initiatives. • Metrics include: scrap, rework, returns, appraisal and prevention. • Establish programs to reduce metrics using continuous improvement tools as well as actively participate in projects that support Lean Manufacturing initiatives resulting in improved profitability, work flow and team performance. • Utilize and teach Lean tools including 5S, Kaizen, quick changeover, value stream mapping, mistake proofing, etc. • This candidate will also need to have experience with preventive quality engineering techniques such as PFMEA, control plans, process mapping, etc. • Manages the execution and continuous improvement of implementing BWAY quality systems across the regional manufacturing sites in a coordinated and standardized rollout. This includes all aspects of procedures, training, and adhering to total product specifications. Education and Experience: • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Engineering, Operations or Business Management. • 10-15 years of experience with in quality management, multi-site/regional role. • Previous experience in injection molding • Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Proactive, driving personality – dedicated to serving the customer • ASQ and/or Six Sigma certifications are desired. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presenting and organizational skills • Sound business acumen and proven leadership skills • Experience in customer interface • Capable of making decisions • Experienced in union and non-union environments.
