Regional Sales Manager

Founded in 1968 and located in Minnetonka, Minnesota, Electro-Sensors provides its loyal customers with reliable products that improve safety and help plants operate with greater efficiency, productivity and control.  This position is responsible for promoting the value proposition, products and services of Electro-Sensors and is responsible for all sales activity and for achieving aggressive sales goals for a designated region.  Sales goals are achieved directly and through sales channel partners including manufacturer s representatives, distributors and systems integrators.  This position will be based in the Northcentral/Midwest area of the U.S. or at corporate headquarters in Minnetonka, MN. Duties & Responsibilities (may include additional as needed)   Electro-Sensors, Inc.Demonstrate commitment to Electro-Sensors positive and respectful workplace environment by leading, acting and behaving in a professional manner.Understand Electro-Sensors products, services and capabilities.Understand industry and competitors products, services and capabilities.Follow all company policies and procedures.Provide back-up for other Regional Sales Managers and Inside Sales.   Sales & Business DevelopmentDevelop and implement regional strategic selling plans to achieve growth targets.Identify new business opportunities, close sales and meet or exceed aggressive sales targets.Prepare and present regional updates to sales manager including status of sales, forecast, key account activities, opportunities, plans, developments, marketing campaigns and other relevant topics.Monitor, analyze and understand market activities and update company on all regional dynamics.Develop and cultivate effective relationships with key players throughout industry.Be the face of Electro-Sensors in the region and cultivate Electro-Sensors as an industry leader.Develop all stages of sales pipeline to support future sales and business planning and forecasting.Create strategic target account list and develop plans for penetration and growth.Identify local or regional trade shows and associations to promote Electro-Sensors, Inc.Work with customer service and inside sales team in a leadership role to meet customer needs.  Sales Channel ManagementCommunicate overall strategy to channel partners and develop and execute local strategies.Participate with channel partner on joint sales calls with strategic customers.Monitor, evaluate and motivate sales channel partners.Demonstrate sales leadership and close key opportunities through the sales channel.Conduct training for sales channel partners and customers. Skills, Attributes and Experience   RequiredBachelor s degree with a minimum of 4 years experience in sales of technology products in a business-to-business environment.Must have demonstrated ability to understand technical concepts and to successfully communicate them to customers and sales channel partners.Ability to interact well with all levels of customer functions up to C-level executives.Sales territory management experience and experience managing distributors or manufacturer s representatives.A positive attitude and professional appearance along with the ability to thrive in a small company environment and build strong relationships with coworkers, customers and partners.Must be persistent, action-oriented, results-driven and self-motivated.Strong negotiation, interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.Strong organizational skills, ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and perform with a sense of urgency.Experience using Customer Relationship Management software and Microsoft Office applications.   Highly DesirableBachelor s degree in engineering or other technical discipline along with 4 years of sales experience.Work experience with and knowledge of sensor technologies, products, applications and targeted industries.Formal sales training such as that from Miller Heiman or Wilson Learning.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNoneTravel RequiredMust possess a valid Driver s License with a safe driving record.Ability to work a flexible schedule including some weekends.Must be able to travel regularly up to 50% of the time.Physical/Environmental RequirementsWorkplace may include office, production and warehouse environments and customer sites which may include hazardous environments, heavy machinery, exposure to the elements, etc.Ability to lift and move large, heavy objects such as sales demonstration equipment.
