Working at Nutrien will provide you an opportunity to help us Feed the Future, and grow your career.Reporting to the Director, Technology and Innovation, the Process Engineering Specialist  will provide process engineering expertise with advanced knowledge of all nitrogen processes (urea, ammonia, nitric acid and nitrates).  This position will manage process design for large investment projects as well as support site process engineers on site optimization, development of capital improvement, and review of process design.What you will do:Keep the Management team advised of planning activities for Nutrien – Geismar via monthly reports, status of stationary and rotating equipment, handling special projects.Attend meetings and any other planning information deemed necessary by the Management team.Administer and assign work request/work orders to his/her assigned personnel.Oversee/administer the preventative maintenance and PM frequency for equipment reliability. Ensure departmental practices follow manufacture specifications and Best Practices Philosophies. Responsible for the directing equipment inspections, inspection documentations and recommendations of any corrective action judged to be necessary, 2) quality control and technical direction of maintenance of critical equipment, 3) determination of economical solutions for repetitive equipment failures, and 4) development of term predictive and preventive maintenance programs. Provides, through his subordinates, quality control and technical direction of maintenance of critical plant equipment to ensure optimum plant reliability and availability Provides and directs technical engineering efforts for the correction of repetitive equipment failures via upgrade modification or replacement of process equipment. Provides and direct technical and engineering efforts to provide effective preventive/predictive/reliability maintenance programs and spare parts recommendations. Provides and directs effective technical and engineering support for equipment troubleshooting/repairs during plant forced outages due to breakdown or malfunctions. Provides and directs effective technical and engineering support for the maintenance and updating of plan engineering specifications, maintenance technical specification manuals, and engineering drawings. Develops and plans long and short-range objectives for the improvement of maintenance quality and to meet the challenges presented by improved technology or methods.Conducts equipment failure investigations to determine best repair and reduce future occurrence. Manage budget expenditures.All other duties as assigned.What you will bring:BSME Engineering Degree preferred with 10 years maintenance experience. Mechanical Engineer is preferred, as well as licensed P.E. Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in industrial maintenance trades. Knowledge and Experience with vibration monitoring and analysis. Understanding of equipment balancing and alignment principles Understanding of API codes relating to procurement, testing, and repair of equipment and structures.Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards and its insurers. Ability to obtain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) as issued by TSA (Transportation Security Administration). Ability to effectively communicate, orally (face to face and by telephone) and in writing, in English with coworkers, contractors, government officials and Senior Management.Ability to read and understand written material (in English), including use and understanding of basic numerical calculations, safety rules and operations instructional guides and procedures manuals.Must be able to deal effectively with people and resolve conflicts and problems. Must possess management/supervisory skills and be able to effectively manage employees and contractors. Must possess well developed interpersonal skills to manage, lead, and direct personnel. Able to organize and prioritize multiple projects and adjust quickly as needed.Ability to accept direction and work effectively & cooperatively with other people. Must have intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point). Must possess strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with both company and contract employees. Must be goal orientated, self-motivated and able to work independently.
