Research Assistants – Johnston Field Research
DuPont Pioneer has an opportunity for Research workers, who are responsible for completing tasks associated with research field experiments supporting several initiatives within the Johnston Field Research Center at Pioneer. This position will present opportunities to develop a strong understanding of field research along with expanding knowledge of the seed industry and some of the technologies involved.These positions will be available starting in early May and will last through mid-August. Applicants should plan on working about 40 hours a week with additional hours possible during peak times. Work conditions may be hot, humid and muddy. Training will be provided Research workers will be responsible for duties such as:detailed data collection and data management in outside environmentstissue sampling corn and soybean plants in fieldweeding fieldspollinating corn in the fielddigging corn rootswashing corn rootsinfesting corn and soybean plants with insectssome lab work associated with ag researchseed fillingQualifications:Educational Qualifications DesiredApplicants minimum age requirement shall be 18 years or older. Looking for people who current enrolled in 2 or 4 year post-secondary education. Competencies and Experience DesiredIndividual must display good communication skills, a high degree of self motivation and work well independently as well as a team member with minimal supervision. Applicant must be willing to work outside for extended periods of time. The applicant must be able to carry out processes with minimal supervision, and in a safe and responsible way.
