Monsanto is seeking a highly-motivated Research Associate with strong molecular biology skills to become an integral member of the Targeted Solutions Sequencing Team within the Trait Design and Sciences Program located in Chesterfield, MO. The Sequencing Technologies team develops and supports complex sequencing applications that enable innovative product development throughout Monsanto. In this role, you will be a member of a highly talented team, contribute to experimental design, and utilize a variety of manual and automated molecular approaches to enable business critical sequencing projects. Responsibilities include:Nucleic acid extraction and Next-Gen sequencing library preparationPlanning and coordinating with a variety of teams across the Biotechnology matrix to ensure efficient and on-time delivery of high quality resultsContribute to experimental design and development of new methods or sequencing strategies to meet emerging business needsOperate successfully in both individual and team environments to troubleshoot protocols and deliver results Ensure that LIMS records are maintained in an accurate and timely mannerPerform established protocols in compliance with our ISO quality management system Qualifications:Required Education and Skills/Experience:Minimum of a Master???s Degree in Molecular Biology or a related fieldStrong background in molecular biology and genetics, including knowledge of the following techniques: Next-Gen sequencingSequencing library preparationPCRCloningSequence captureProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to multitask and learn methods and technologies as necessary to meet business needsDemonstrated ability to work with tight deadlines in a dynamic environmentExcellent collaborative and interpersonal skillsDesired Education and Skills/Experience:Prior experience with automationKnowledge of LabwareKnowledge of ISO systemsWho is Monsanto?
