We currently have an opening for a Research Associate in the St. Louis/Woodland/Brazil Production Genotyping Platform as a part of the MBT Program.   The position will be located in Chesterfield, MO. This individual will be working collaboratively with other production team members to deliver daily and weekly targets under tight deadlines, identify opportunities for system or process improvements, and operate automation. The successful candidate will have experience in molecular biology, high through-put laboratory environments, and the ability to work well with a large team. Responsibilities include: Delivering daily/weekly production through-put targets  Operating and troubleshooting production automation  Adhering to established protocols and good laboratory practice techniques  Identifying and implementing process improvements  Accountable for cross-functional work in multiple detection platforms  Providing training and guidance to others at various technical levelsData monitoring to facilitate process improvement projectsMaintaining detailed record keeping and ISO documentation  Achieving commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and best practices The successful candidate will thrive on meeting production challenges, insist on high quality deliverables, demonstrate effective problem solving skills, and possess the agility to work across teams. Qualifications:Required Education and Skills:Must have one of the following:  Minimum of a High School diploma/ GED and at least ten years of related production and/or laboratory experience, OR Minimum of an Associate???s degree with at least one year of related production or laboratory experienceMechanical aptitude for operating and troubleshooting automation Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to build strong relationships and networks across shifts, sub-teams, and sitesWillingness and ability to learn quickly and adjust to changes under pressure (short timelines, troubleshooting of automation issues, contingency planning)Desired Education and Skills:a) Bachelors Degree in a biological science or related field of study or  mechanical or related engineering and at least three years of related production or molecular  laboratory experience OR b) At least one year of experience in a production environment including operating automation High through-put laboratory experienceBroad understanding of modern molecular biology, DNA extraction, and DNA detection techniques Experience in DNA extraction and/or molecular markers Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills Demonstrated ability to program automation software Proficiency with Spotfire or similar visualization softwareWho is Monsanto?
