We are looking for a highly motivated research associate to join the Molecular Microbiology group of Industrial Biosciences. The successful applicant will have hands on experience in molecular biology techniques such as construct design, gene cloning and transformation of bacterial or fungal cells. The responsibilities of this position include: Daily duties include performing experiments employing molecular biology techniques for projects aimed at expressing and commercializing proteins and small molecules to satisfy a variety of consumer product needs. The successful candidate will be involved in all the steps required for microbial strain construction and testing including DNA design and manipulation, transformation, sequence verification, small scale testing (SDS-PAGE, enzyme assays, transcriptional profiling, etc.), data analysis, interpretation, reporting and follow up discussions.
