This exciting opportunity in our Research Department will support the demands of a high-throughput analytical laboratory as a member of the data analysis team, with responsibilities to include analyzing raw data, compiling results, and generating reports. The individual will be expected to evaluate data quality against predetermined quality metrics and to troubleshoot and assist in solving the root causes of issues identified. Plans and executes analysis efficiently and accurately in order to return high quality data to researchers by established deadlines. Prioritizes dynamically according to business need priority. Data analysis will be both GLP and Non-GLP (70%)In a team environment, conducts and evaluates experiments, while exercising independent judgment, addressing problems, and recommending actions to be taken in support of data troubleshooting and root cause remediation.
Uses analytical tools (such as Excel and Spotfire) to display data and make decisions. (20%)Support team projects by helping with experiment planning, data analysis, data reporting, and writing standard operating procedures for process improvement and equipment evaluation projects. (10%) QualificationsAssociates or bachelors degree in molecular biology (genetics emphasis is advantageous), chemistry, biochemistry, or biotechnology or equivalent level of relevant education and experience are required.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail are required.Broad theoretical grounding and understanding of molecular biology, genetics and statistics are highly advantageous.Experience with Next Generation Sequencing methods and applications is highly advantageous.Experience with PCR and real-time PCR methods and applications is highly advantageous.Exposure to digital PCR and applications is beneficial.Strong competence in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is desired.Experience with using TIBCO Spotfire, and statistical software (R, SAS) is preferred.Experience with high-throughput production laboratory workflows is preferred.Experience with Laboratory Information Management systems is advantageous.Experience with GLP practices and standards is beneficial.
