Research Associate, Crop Growth Characteristic Team
Job PurposeDuPont Pioneer is seeking a Research Associate to join the Crop Growth Characteristic team in the Johnston Field Research Center (JFRC). This position will be responsible for successfully executing critical field and/or greenhouse activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out many aspects of field and greenhouse experiments to perform in-depth phenotyping of plants. He/she will be a member of a multidisciplinary team and needs to work collaboratively within their group and other groups in the Johnston Field Research Center. Duties/ResponsibilitiesMain Responsibilities but not limited to:?? Executing greenhouse assays including planting, transplanting, plant care, and collecting phenotypic data. Examples of greenhouse assay would be limited transpiration, root architecture, and silk elongation rate.?? Leading/Working with a temporary crew during the summer collecting field data and plant samples. Examples include stand counts, leaf counts, plant heights, leaf area, plant biomass, nitrogen analysis, and harvest index.?? Occasional weekend work will be required and day trips to offsite locations are possible.?? In times of need, members of JFRC will assist other groups needing help. ?? Data management and organization from both field and greenhouse experiments. ?? Software and program management. Examples: GRIMIS, Breeders??? Desktop, RStudio, excel, Seed Request, Bartender, LoggerNet, and EOS Image Capture.?? Opportunity to work with and learn new technologies, both internally and externally, and utilize them to develop a system for phenotyping plant's responses to different environmental conditions and stresses.??
