DescriptionCorteva Agriscence is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Research Entomologist to join our Crop Protection Discovery, Insecticide and Nematicide Biology Group based at our Indianapolis research and development facility. The successful candidate will use their experience and creativity to develop new capabilities to identify novel areas of chemistry with crop protection potential. Job responsibilities will include driving the progress of early-stage projects by setting clear goals and designing, conducting and communicating hypothesis-driven experiments that address critical gaps for advancement. Work responsibilities will be balanced across developing new capabilities for insecticide discovery to improving existing capabilities. The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment, network across scientific disciplines, and be capable of clearly communicating to a broad range of audiences. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and evaluate novel agricultural solutionsDeveloping strategies to experimentally validate bioassay methods in developmentImplementing bioassays for crop protection R&D projectsConducting experiments in laboratories, growth chambers, and greenhousesContributing to all aspects of experiments including planning, execution, analysis, and reportingGenerating and clearly presenting summaries of technical resultsDeveloping and implementing safety practices to ensure safety in the work environmentQualificationsRequired:Ph.D. in entomology or related field Experience evaluating synthetic and natural compounds to develop novel agricultural solutions Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skillsSelf-motivated, organized research scientist, who enjoys working in project teams, meeting project milestones, and supporting company objectivesStrong record of accomplishment delivering superior resultsPreferred:Familiarity with insect toxicology and agricultural chemistry Experience with biological or natural product insecticidesBioassay design and deployment, experience with HTP assays, laboratory automation, roboticsApply for this job.
