Applied Breeding Technologies and Genomics (ABTG) is across-functional group within Corteva Research and Development that developsand deploys next-generation statistical and field technologies to characterizeand predict genetic and environmental variation within applied plant breedingprograms. The advertised scientist position will join ABTG and work in across-functional group consisting of plant breeders, data scientists, andmolecular geneticists to: ? Rapidlyprototype new statistical and deep learning approaches using genome sequence,environmental sensors, satellite, and other digital applications tocharacterize and predict genetic, environment, and genetic by environmentinteractions within Corteva breeding programs? Developand apply methodology to characterize germplasm diversity and associate thisdiversity to phenotypic variation within Corteva?s industry leading cropgermplasm? Makerecommendations and train scientists working within specific crops on bestapproaches for leveraging new genetic and environmental predictions.Qualifications:? PhDin computer science, statistics, or additional fields with heavy data analyticsrequirements with a strong history of independent problem solving, from hypothesisgeneration through results interpretation? Python and Linux experience. Development andprogramming experience with computational graph frameworks and probabilisticprograming required.? Practical and theoretical expertise in deeplearning and statistical methodology, particularly within the context ofprobabilistic graphical models and Bayesian inference.? Experience within the fields of genomics, computational biology,or quantitative genetics would be beneficial but is not essential? Experienceusing cloud computing environments preferred?
