Our worldwide headquarters and research facilities are in Greenfield, Indiana.?Responsibilities ?? ?The Research Scientist will lead discovery research activities that primarily employ electrophysiology. The scientist will be responsible for generation of both novel targets and new parasiticide interventions in companion and food animals, with strong technical emphasis in high content, medium to high throughput electrophysiology. ?Generate appropriate data necessary to demonstrate a target?s relevance in animal health and parasitologyDevelop in vitro and in vivo high-content electrophysiology models that allow for the screening of candidate parasiticidesProvide technical expertise, scientific or business relatedCoordinate/develop targets for parasitologyCoordinate/develop laboratory protocol necessary for electrophysiology-based testingCoordinate/develop animal protocols necessary for parasiticide testingIdentify and select CROs and other partners, establish agreements and contractsEnsure constant flow of new research projects by reviewing literature and external sources of innovation (academia, biotech and agricultural chemistry companies) for new chemistry targets or platforms.Provide scientific input and guidance for external and Lilly project sources for portfolio entry into the companion and food animal research efforts.Research project/ prioritization and management (scope- SAR plans, timelines, resources and risk/mitigation/contingencies).? ?Identify and implement relevant technologies, methods and strategies in the respective discipline. Continuously improve technical expertise in the sub-function.Maintain and foster sound working relationships within Research and to other functions such as Chemistry/Parasitology, Bioinformatics, CA/FA research teams and External Innovation.Ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines regarding quality and safety (quality manuals, good research principles, health authority guidance and SOPs).?Basic Qualifications ?? ?PhD in Biology, Parasitology, or a related biological field with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the human or animal health industry setting4 years medium to high throughput electrophysiology experienceQualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.
