The Maschhoffs, the largest family-owned hog production network in North America, is seeking a Research Specialist for a portfolio of farms near Vandalia, IL.?Job Overview:The Research Specialist will have primary responsibility for executing research at a research technology center. The Specialist will be accountable for ensuring that the highest scientific standards are met within a dynamic commercial research environment, including the application of fundamental research principles and management of data integrity. Ultimately, the Research Specialist will be principal to the data gathered, informing subsequent decisions that deliver measurable value to the company while adhering to best in class quality and scientific standards.?Job Duties & Accountabilities:?Typical Duties of the Research Specialist include:?Collaborate with internal and external Research and Operations staff to execute a research plan on time, of high quality, and within budget.?Assist in the collection of data as designated in study protocols.?Assist in daily site logistics for all pig and feed movements.?Perform routine maintenance and validation of research equipment.?Work with Production Operations staff to assist with the execution of all daily activities at the facilities.?Routine weekend responsibilities for the execution of the daily SOP.?Utilize internal Performance Management tools to set goals, hold accountability and coach behaviors.?Execute Quality Management System procedures pertaining to research conductEnsure all practices are consistent with commonly accepted animal well-being standards, safe-guard the environment and ensure regulatory compliance.??Minimum Qualifications:Education: Minimum of Associates? Degree in Animal Science, or a related field required. Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.Experience: No previous experience in modern swine production or research required, but an internship of 6 months ? 1 year in swine production or research is preferred.????
