Retail Protein Sales Specialist

This position is responsible for sales of Cargill
Proteins retail turkey products. The following products will be part of the
sales responsibility, fresh and frozen case ready turkey products, frozen whole
birds, Bone in Breast, fully cooked whole birds and Bone in breast and value added new product introductions. Customers
assigned include retail chain accounts and distributors within the South
Eastern U.S. area. The main geography covers Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana,
Mississippi, North Carolina, South
Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

Position Purpose
This role is required to develop and execute
specific sales strategies while prioritizing the right opportunities to deliver on
expectations of the business. Managing an existing book of business while
identifying new opportunities within the assigned geography to foster growth
for our retail turkey products. Develop customer relationships to position
Cargill as the partner of choice with key customers. Manage our broker network
within the geography to deliver on assigned goals for the region. Collaborate
with teammates within our business functions to deliver customer solutions.Principal Accountabilities40% Customer FocusDevelop deep personal relationships
with key decision makers and influencers within the customer organization.
Understand the driving factors of the assigned customer base to align Cargill
Protein solutions for win/win results. Create programs that meet customer needs
and deliver on the volume and margin expectations of Cargill. Utilize customer
specific data to communicate and exploit opportunity gaps within the data set
that will mutually benefit Cargill and the customers results. Build and deliver
customer business reviews that create actions to drive future business. Develop
and present specific customer presentations for new product offerings that
address the specific customer needs to gain acceptance.?25% CommunicationThis position is the voice of the
customer to internal stakeholders. You will be charged with communicating through
various electronic tools so that internal partners can deliver on customer expectations.
Feature activity, business trends, new product introductions, customer meetings
and communications are all part of the position responsibilities. Informing
leadership of new developments within the customer is a critical responsibility
to ensure strategies are adjusted to meet a changing environment. Sharing
pertinent information with the assigned broker teams in a timely manner to
position programs and initiatives is a key function of this position.?20% LeadershipLead
assigned brokers and their staff to support Cargill programs, initiatives and
goals that help meet the customer?s needs. Build relationships within and
outside of Cargill to motivate stakeholders and grow our business profitably. This role is also responsible for managing deadlines and
communication flow to ensure new items are launched or changes to existing
items are executed in a timely manner within both Cargill and Harris Teeter.Champion
customer causes throughout the organization with keeping your eye on a balance
between customer and Cargill. Project a positive image for Cargill with
customers and within the community.?15% Teamwork Work closely with business managers and strategic
pricing teams to develop compelling programs for customers. Build internal
relationships with assigned customer service personnel, supply chain and
forecasting teams to ensure our programs deliver on customer needs.?Skills:
RequiredBachelor?s Degree3-5 years of experience working in
CPG or food industryKnowledge of the meat industry with
retail customersDemonstrated track record of success
in sales and ability to deliver resultsExperience managing a regional
Broker networkHistory of effectively utilizing
category management data (Neilsen, IRI) in sales presentationsAbility to travel 40% of the timeAdvanced skills in Word, Excel,
