Retail Sales Representative (Ag Equipment)

The Retail Sales Representative is responsible for maximizing the sale of all Kuhn, Kuhn Krause, and Kuhn Knight products and services at the Lexington, Nebraska retail store location.POSITION EXPECTATIONS?Price, sell, deliver, and collect for store products?Solve customer product and service needs with required urgency?Understand complete Kuhn Knight and Kuhn product line and its service/replacement parts needs?Present a helpful and favorable image of the CompanyDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with local office and Company employees?Treat people fairly?Confidentiality of Company information?Continuously improve systemsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.? Other duties may be assigned.Make retail sales calls to prospective customers, to include dairy, feedlot, and crop producers.Document trade-in machine and truck condition, take photos, and forward information to Retail Sales Manager.Greet walk-in and telephone customers and direct them to the appropriate KNA resource.Demonstrate products and explain their features and benefits.Monitor local market trends and identify potential markets. Forward information to Retail Store Manager.Collect outstanding and past-due accounts receivables.Investigate and respond to customer inquiries (including show & publication leads) for product orders and quotes.?Deliver and set-up new products for customers and train customers in standard product operations.Coordinate product delivery information with customers and assist with freight logistics, as required.?Verify sales (machines and parts) orders, enter orders into computer, and communicate to required KNA support departments.Coordinate, set-up, and represent the Company at local trade, fair, and farm shows.Submit call, inventory, and expense reports and other required documentation in a timely manner.Recommend new product development ideas.? Communicate with sales, marketing, product, engineering and manufacturing to test and evaluate potential products.Ensure sales lot is properly stocked and arranged and advise on store product stock and re-stock needs.Based on knowledge of local retail market, participate in the development of annual sales forecasts of products and service parts to be sold at the Lexington retail store.Participate in the Company s team process to develop and improve product sales and marketing functions.? Continually strive to find better ways to complete tasks and be the best in the industry.Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion and conform to all quality and safety procedures.Due to the small staff in Lexington, serve as the back-up for parts inventory cycle counts, emergency parts deliveries and minor repairs, equipment set-up, or other support activities as required.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.? An agricultural background (especially in the beef market) and advanced education and/or experience in marketing, sales, or business is preferred.? An agricultural and mechanical background is preferred.Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, and technical manuals/procedures.? Ability to write reports and business correspondence.? Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions and solve problems with groups of customers and employees at all levels of the organization.? Requires good telephone skills.Mathematical Skills -? Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.? Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.? Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.? Ability to take responsibility for the result of the decision.Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Requires a valid driver s license issued in the state of the employee s permanent residence.? A CDL (commercial drivers license) or ability to obtain is preferred. A state registration providing that an employee may sell to retail customers is required (State specific & completed with Company assistance.? Required for employment if state requires.).??ills/Abilities Requires a comprehensive understanding of Company products and the ability to travel.? Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including computer and telephone/voice mail systems, fax machine, and copier and a tractor/farm equipment.? Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet required deadlines.
