Rice Sales Agronomist #2555

The Sales Agronomist is responsible for the success of our client s portfolio and Annual Sales Plan via established distribution businesses and associated retailers, utilizing existing business, sales, and Agronomy skills to drive success. This hybrid position requires a high level technical and commercial interface with these distribution retail accounts and consultants, rice industry academia, applicators, associations and growers to assure product inventories and purchases are consumed by the rice farmer, developing strong business relationships that full meet both Customer and Organizational expectations.Reporting directly to the National Sales Director, this individual also works closely with the Customer Business Specialist (inside sales function) to assess the customer inventory position and the reporting of product sales to maximize Product On the Ground (POG) usage. This individual also works in concert with the Field Development Manager to educate and advance existing product portfolio usage and new product development introductions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Manage existing accounts to encourage repeat salesBuild territory and product awareness to increase product usage year over year Support the development, introduction and commercial launch and sale of new product conceptsMarketing for assigned territory update customer data and understand their needs, know territory competition, and understand new product potentialManage customer complaints, demonstration product and territory expense in line with budgetsWork with Sales Director to establish new distribution lines and ensure that products are properly utilized within annual budgetsEducation and/or Experience This position requires at least a 4-year Agriculture degree (business or technical), and all candidates must have a minimum 5 years within the agricultural business channel with sales and marketing experience, as well as hands-on in-field experience. Experience in the U.S. Rice Production market is preferred. Successful candidates must have computer skills, with a business-related accomplishment level of expertise in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.Physical DemandsThe general environment is a home office with time spent on the ground in fields, labs, and chemical manufacturing environments and within the client s corporate office.This position requires normal, everyday use of standard office equipment, and required safety equipment while in the field. This position requires extensive travel by car and may require long-distance travel by plane. Expected travel is greater than 50%. Successful candidates must hold a valid U.S. driver s license and must be insurable by the Company.
