The Monsanto US Row Crops Organization is seeking highlymotivated candidates for a Process Engineering Co-op experience. ResponsibilitiesProcess Engineering Co-ops will gethands-on experience at a North American seed production facility. Students areinvolved in fundamental aspects of crop production during their employment togain valuable process knowledge for future career opportunities. Dailyactivities may range from leading optimization projects, planning maintenanceprograms, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, presentingcapital projects, and learning critical process equipment procedures. As part of the co-op experience youmay have the opportunity to participate in a cross functional experience byvisiting another seed production site for a different crop or anotherEngineering related business. Students may be asked to perform a specificproject assignment in addition to daily operational responsibilities. Are-cap of the experience and the results of any project assigned will bepresented to an audience of other co-ops and Crop Leads at the conclusion ofthe term. Upon completion of the term, co-ops, mentors, and site managerswill be asked for feedback on the program and any project assignments. Therewill be an orientation session and term end wrap up session held in St. Louis,MO. LocationsWe have opportunities at our seedproductions sites in Beaman, IA, Boone, IA, Grinnell, IA, and Waco, NE. Owntransportation is needed as most sites are located in areas without publictransportation.Qualifications:Required Skills/Experiences: Sophomores,Juniors, and Seniors pursuing a BS degree in Industrial Engineering, MechanicalEngineering, Electrical Engineering, Ag Engineering, Technical SystemsManagement or related Engineering degree. Abilityto commit to a 6-month co-op (mid-May – Dec.)Abilityto build relationships and work well in a team based environmentAbilityto communicate effectively with all levels of the organizationSelf-motivatedwith a strong results orientation. Demonstrated ability to manage a deadlinewhile being able to focus on detailsStrongproblem-solving skills and an ability to organize (thoughts, data, etc)Excellentcomputer skills related to data acquisition and record keepingDemonstratedleadership ability.
