Safety, Health, andEnvironmental Manager (SHE)General Job Description The DuPont IndustrialBioscience?s Avon Plant Site is a small plant in Martinez, CA, affording you the opportunity to wear several hats, interact directly with personnel, whileproviding you with a greater view of company-wide operations. Onsite resources total <50 individuals in a combination of full time andcontract roles. The plant is dedicated to the production of sulfuric acidcatalyst (24/7 operation). The SHE Manager reports to the Site Plant Managerand is a member of the site?s leadership team assisting in the overalldevelopment of the organization and driving strong accountability regarding ourcore values (safety, health, environment, and respect for people) and creatinga zero-overdue culture. Due to the small nature of the plant, allsite leaders must balance both leadership,in-field problem solving, execution of the site?s SHE programs, associated processes,and systems. The SHE Manager will provide supervisory guidance to onenon-exempt SHE technician and will give functional guidance to all sitepersonnel as it relates to SHE related tasks. This role is also responsible for completing and filing all Corporate& Regulatory reports and permit applications accurately and on time,contributing to our zero-overdue culture. Job Duties: Facilitate annual renewal of the site?s SHE/PSMimprovement strategy and objectives. Translate strategy (vision) andrequirements into tangible, actionable plans Site representative for interactions withCorporate, Business, and Regulatory agencies. Complete data management, analysis,recordkeeping, reporting, and permit application processes. Ensure timely andaccurate reporting of any deviations or incidentsHands-on, in-plant work with operators,mechanics, contractors, and technical staff to accomplish work tasks. Completeroutine field line walks (observe and engage) provide recognition, coaching,collaboration, and trainingCommunicate with the Tesoro Refinery relative toshared topicsOversee and coordinate the site?s 1st,2nd, and 3rd party audit programs Manage incident and corrective action trackingsystem (ETQ Reliance)Conduct and support incident investigations and rootcause analysis (RCFA)Develop and communicate SHE KPIs(leading/lagging) on plant dashboards and visual boards. Owner and developer for plant SHE procedures andpoliciesDevelop and facilitate training programs and monthlysafety meetingsCreate ?one-pagers? and communicate keylearnings from events on and off site Participate in SHE/PSM networksProvide coaching at all levels of theorganizationOther duties and projects as assignedOversee ISO 14001 and waste management programs.Create new waste profiles and assist with waste handling strategy. Backup authorizer of waste manifests (Thiscan be a great future development opportunity) Qualifications: Required Qualifications- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Bachelor?sdegree in engineering or related safety or environmental field Threeor more years SHE Solidunderstanding of and/or ability to interpret Corporate, Business, andRegulatory requirements and ability to work collaboratively with subject matterexperts DemonstratedSHE functional/technical expertise with strong knowledge of safe workpractices, auditing, record keeping, investigation/RCFA, etc. Demonstratedstrong data management and analytical skillsStrongproject management, organization, and prioritization skillsExcellentwritten and oral communication skillsExperiencewith organizational culture change/development Abilityto train, coach, and mentor others Strongleadership skills and ability to work independently and collaborativelyAbilityto develop/expand in SHE role (i.e. PSM, waste management, environmental)Experienceimplementing & maintaining site wide safety related programs Additional desirable(not required) - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Specificknowledge of California laws and regulations CertifiedIndustrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP), USDOTHazardous Materials Transportation and/or RCRA Hazardous Waste Managementcertification ProcessSafety Management (PSM) Understandingof ISO14001Industrialhygiene principles and monitoring Experiencewith hazardous waste management regulations and practicesApply for this job.
