QUALIFICATIONS: – High School education or equivalent- BS in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Sciences, or related field preferred- Membership in nationally recognized safety organization or certified safety professional preferred.- Knowledge of Safety/Compliance regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc).- 3-5 years health and safety experience preferred- Ability to travel as needed to support the organizations needs.- Excellent communications and team-building skills- Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver presentations and to teach others- Must be self-directed, self-motivated, and with the demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.- Physically able to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and move about the company facilities.- Physically able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds JOB DESCRIPTION: Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an established Ag Employer in their search for a Safety Manager to oversee regulatory compliance programs at their company locations in North-Central Nebraska. The Safety Manager will plan, design, implement and evaluate health and safety management programs and processes to promote a safe work environment and to ensure compliance with all appropriate federal and state laws, regulations and standards. The Safety Manager is the primary point of contact for all safety-related issues, maintains government and regulatory compliance, and establishes specific strategies that support the Safety, Health, and Environmental objectives including security and crisis preparedness. To accomplish this objective, the Safety Manager will:- Coordinate the safety programs of the company- Conduct employee safety training- Serve as chairman of the company safety committee- Work with departmental managers and employees to develop safety procedures for operations- Assist in developing recommendations for safety equipment needs- Assist in assessing the environmental/safety soundness of new facility and equipment purchases- Regularly audit internal safety practices to ensure compliance and recommend changes where necessary.- Assure accuracy and timeliness of implementing audit recommendations to policies and procedures.- Develop and maintain accurate records as required by environmental and safety regulatory requirements.- Maintain safety manuals, records, licenses, and other required documents at all offices- Represent the cooperative in dealing with governmental regulatory agencies- Work closely with governmental agencies to ensure proper compliance with laws and regulations- Enforce and uphold the company credit policy- Perform other duties as assigned by management ALL INQUIRIES ARE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL.
