Safety Manager (Western Nebraska)

This corporate level position will provide guidance and expertise to all business units.? Through on-site involvement at locations, this position will assess, recommend improvements and contribute to efforts to improve safety, efficiency and effectiveness.? As a subject matter expert in facility and employee safety, this position will ensure safety procedures and regulations are implemented and respected, provide consistent safety procedures at Scoular facilities and open communication channels to achieve a safe and productive work environment.? The Safety Manager could be based out of any Scoular location in Western Nebraska.
Ensure current and new employees and facilities adhere to all regulatory and Scoular safety practices and standards
Inspect physical plant operations to promote safe, clean, and efficient facilities. Assist with the integration of new facilities into company business
Ensure compliance with federal, state, insurance, reporting and all other safety regulations and standards.Works in cooperation with insurance carrier and inspections representatives to provide safe working environment
Train current employees on Scoular safety policies and practices
Ensure operation work processes follow Scoular safety practices and policies
Evaluate and recommend actions to achieve optimal, long term improvements Consult with senior management and location management to gain consensus on actionable items
Bachelor?s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or five years of safety, health, environmental and/or related industry experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Knowledge of grain handling facility operations preferable.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Must show initiative and ability to perform in a fast-paced, ever-changing workplace.
Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
Ability to research and solve problems.
Ability to perform some repetitive tasks.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Extensive travel by commercial airlines and automobile.
Must have valid driver?s license.
Pass pre-employment physical and drug and alcohol testing. ?
