Sales Agronomist

Start Date:  TBD – When appropriate candidate is selected for offer.  The Sales Agronomist position, located in the Southern US, will be responsible for providing agronomic support for commercial production of Carinata along with sales and marketing support by recruiting and working with customers, farmers, retailers, grain handling partners, in effort to expand seed sales.  Program geographies include, but are not limited to the following:  MS, AL GA, FL, AR, TN, TX, SC, NC.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Provide agronomic support, including best management practices, variety evaluations and quality control while promoting sustainable land and water stewardship to meet sustainability requirementsAssist in the agronomic training of community stakeholders in Agrisoma’s Crop Production Program in effort to ensure grower adoption to the Carinata rotation systemSupport supply chain activities associated with planting and harvest logistics to ensure Quality Control and timely delivery of product to handling locationsExpand the field tour program to promote Carinata best practices, assist in variety validation for commercial selection for introduction to the marketSupport retail contracting partners with grower visits and promotional field daysMonitor and scout the status of Carinata production, proactively solicit and gather customer feedback and provide regular updates to Product ManagementRepresent Agrisoma, USA Inc. at trade shows, scientific meetings, research collaboration meetings, and at producer meetingsProvide reporting to Agrisoma management teams of farm management and production of CarinataParticipate and help drive an aggressive Sales and Marketing plan as developed to acquire Carinata production acres and supply chain efficienciesAssist with grower recruitment activities associated with maintaining and increasing Carinata acres in the region, including scheduling, executing, and follow-up of farmer meetings, conferences, trade shows or other opportunities along with farm demonstration plots and toursManage grower outreach by initiating contact and cultivating relations with influential partners and responsible area producersSupport overall location/business unit customer strategy including seed retail and grain handling activitiesKeep current on Agriculture industry trends, and work with Agrisoma Product Development on validating and promoting best crop protection methods, products, and new varietiesWork independently and remotely while providing positive and productive team support Qualifications:An accredited Degree in Agriculture and/or a minimum of 2 years of agronomy and crop inputs sales experience is preferred.Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft ApplicationsMust have and maintain a current driver’s license.Pesticide Applicators License is recommended, but not required.Willingness to relocate central to territory Travel: ~ 95%Regular travel throughout the defined Southern US territoryOccasional travel outside of region Compensation:Agrisoma provides an excellent compensation package consisting of competitive salary, benefits plan, and career development opportunities. Only applicants under consideration will be contacted.
