Sales Agronomist – Precision Ag
CHS Cooperative Resources is partnering with a progressive member cooperative in Southeastern, South Dakota to hire a Sales Agronomist/Precision Ag. The successful applicant must have a strong agronomic skillset which includes building customer relationships and a drive to exceed customer expectations. Responsibilities: Report weekly sales to department manager or designated personGrow sales to meet annual goal with prompt and courteous work ethicsConduct daily sales calls to current and potential customersInform department manager of potential problems or new business opportunitiesPromote the proper use of crop protection products, seed and precision agriculture to customers to grow market shareCreate and recommend specific agronomy programs based off yield results, crop scouting and seed knowledge to customersMajority of time spent in the country working with producers to earn businessGrid soil sampling and VRT application recommendationsYield map construction and analysisCustomer s crops record keeping compliance programsVariable Rate planting recommendationsPrecision planting dealershipTissue sampling and testing results analysisDevelops sales and marketing programs and pricing policies for the departmentDevelops annual product informational meetings relative to soil testing, field mapping, product recommendations, coordination of timely and accurate application, field monitoring, record keeping, and follow-up calls Basic Qualifications: Degree in agronomy, ag econ, ag business, ag ed, ag engineering, soil or weed science. (Related job experience may substitute for education.) Minimum of five years experience in agronomy, seed, crop protection products and VRTDemonstrate strong communication / persuasive / business skillsStrong work ethicProven self-starter with the ability to form fast and strong business relationships Additional Details:This is an equal opportunity employer.
