Sales Associate – home office opportunity
Farms.com is a leading provider of innovative information products and services for the global agriculture and food industries. We are looking for a results-driven, self-starting person to join our US Farmer team.The position will be responsible for both out-bound cold calling to prospective customers, as well on-site client visits. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the agriculture and farming industries, and has a burning desire to sell. OverviewThe Sales Associate, Indiana and neighboring states, will be responsible for an established territory. The sales associate will be responsible for maintaining existing clients, selling a service that meets their needs, maintaining that relationship, and up-selling whenever possible. The Sales Associate will need to communicate with customers via the phone, via email, and when appropriate in person, to answer inquiries and solve problems; the Associate will utilize a high degree of professionalism when interacting with customers! You will be surrounded by a very successful sales team for a product that is expected to grow. The sales associate will also be responsible for creating new relationships with potential clients. As part of the client acquisition process, the Sales Associate will be expected to target new clients each issue, while still being able to provide high-quality inbound customer service to existing clients. In addition to print ads in the US Farmer magazine, and banner and listing opportunities on the US Farmer website, the Sales Associate will also be able to sell opportunities across the Farms.com network of sites. Thus, you will represent multiple products. US Farmer Magazine is an agriculture trade publication which is distributed throughout Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee. US Farmer was purchased by Farms.com in January 2016. You are the perfect Candidate if:You have a demonstrated ability in sales, primarily via outbound telephone relationshipsYou are familiar with sales skills from prospecting to closing, and all steps in betweenYou are customer-focused, and understand that active listening is the most important skill a sales representative can haveYou understand the agriculture and farming industry in Indiana, including but not limited to the used farm equipment sectorYou have strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and oral)You have strong organizational skills, including strong time managementYou are proficient with computers and the internetYou are highly self-motivated and have an energetic personality, and you are eager to learnYou love the rush you get when you close a saleYou are passionate about agriculture and food QualificationsPost-secondary educationPrevious sales experience The Position:We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and recognizes that their achievements contribute to the overall business goals of our organization.
