Sales ConsultantOpen Positions Located : Monticello, IA; Utica, MN Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Sales Consultant will be an experienced salesperson that calls on customers, retail dealerships and distributors in assigned territory. This position requires a combination of office, home office and telephone work combined with significant travel throughout the territory. Ideal Candidate Qualities:The Sales Consultant must be an energetic, motivated, goal-driven individual with a proven track record in sales. The ideal candidate will be a creative and out-of-the-box thinker who is effective at closing a sale. Candidates should have a background in agronomy and must be passionate about farming and/or food systems and thoughtful enough to appreciate the unique value we offer to farmers and farm communities. Great communication skills are essential, as this person will be communicating effectively with people of varying experience and perspective. Decisiveness and the ability to possess a big picture perspective are a must as well as being well versed in systems with disciplined planning and time management skills. While sales experience is a must, preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds agriculture, agronomy, animal science or horticulture. New Sales Consultants will become experts in MBA s philosophy, approach, and product line to provide consultation and guidance where farmers need it most. Job Duties:Sell Midwestern BioAg products and programs to customers, retail operations, distributors and wholesale accounts.Develop and maintain a strong account pipeline and convert those relationship to sales.Educate and influence customers through training and promoting innovative products that enhance applications of nutrient and crop protection services.Develop an in depth knowledge of customer buying habits and drivers.Assist customers with their product portfolio management, including the introduction to new products and their relationships with retail customers (farmers).Monitor trends and business strategies of targeted accounts allowing for development of sales strategies to support initiatives and goals.Must be a subject matter expert on all products, services, and programs Midwestern BioAg has to offer.Must be able to consult with customers to determine most appropriate products to sell.Additional Job Duties:Use online systems to manage sales orders and customer information (CRM)Coordinate product deliveryAttend industry trade showsOther duties as assignedRequirements:Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience in agriculture, agronomy, animal science, horticulture or related field3-5 years of experience in agronomy, agriculture, animal science, horticulture or related field5-10 years of experience in sales or sales supportExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office to include: Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPointAbility to effectively manage internal and external relationshipsTime management skillsOther:Valid driver s license and ability to operate a motor vehiclePosition may be required to work on weekends and outside of standard business hoursApply for this job.
