We are currently searching for interns to work with our regional sales team across the Mid-West. Sales regions may include but not limited to North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. Description of Job:Train new retailers or customers interested in Valent product offerings on how to position and use them correctly.Facilitate cold calls with retailers, consultants, growers or aerial applicators who may have questions about Valent products.Follow up on grower or retail requests for materials or information from Valent.Collect pictures, data and testimonials from retailers or growers who have Valent demonstration plots or trial fields. Evaluate crop or weed issues pertaining to Valent products or crops during the application season.Monitor and scout fields in question across the regional geography.Introduce new Valent products to new customers and help them position, sell and service new growers.Enter treatment application data and other general information into web-based program.Report to and work with numerous sales managers and representatives; establish and manage busy schedule.Communicate with growers, consultants, retail agronomists and sales reps regarding field information.Travel by vehicle to assigned areas and often stay overnight in hotels. Assignment Dates (approximate): May/June – August, 2018 (may be reduced or extended based on work load). Skills: Excellent initiative, communication, interpersonal, and persuasion skills. Strong time management and organizational skills. Computer skills and experience, including Microsoft Office and web-based programs. Knowledgeable about row crops and crop protection products. Experience: Common agricultural practices, including weed, disease and insect identification in row crops. Education: Undergraduate student or BA/BS in agricultural related science or equivalent. Other: Will travel by car 75% of time. Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle report required. May be required to work weekends and long days during peak rating period. Able to lift or move 50-75 lbs. Will work outside around crop-protection products in agricultural crop fields; may be exposed to extremes in temperature, humidity, or wetness.
