This position offers an excellent opportunity for a driven leader with crop nutrient and/or industrial commodities sales experience. Based out of our Regional Sales Office in Spokane, WA, the Sales Representative will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and maintaining customer relationships. RESPONSIBILITIES : Plan, coordinate, and work closely with team members of local and other IRM offices to maximize sales volumes on an ongoing basis.Build relationships with new and existing customers in order to meet immediate needs and cultivate sustained success.Identify additional supply sources and other business opportunities to expand product offerings to a growing customer base.Act as a liaison between the company and the customer in order to resolve issues on an ongoing basisDevelop expert level understanding of local and national crop nutrient and industrial commodities sectors at wholesale and retail levels.Prepare reports as well as ad-hoc internal memos/emails to communicate existing business, new opportunities, and any information related to industry trends, competitors, and projected future business.Prioritize face to face customer interaction by arranging visits to customer facilities, plant facilities, and third party storage and handling locations.Represent IRM at industry sponsored trade-shows and seminars.Provide input and assistance to other functional areas inclusive of quality, service and safety, in order to improve processes and customer satisfaction levels. QUALIFICATIONS: Entrepreneurial with a self-starting personality.Capability to work in small and large teams with people based around the world.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while consistently working to improve personal contributions.A college level degree ideally with a business focus. This position will appeal to candidates with experience in sales & marketing of agricultural and industrial commodities.Minimum of 5 years’ progressive sales and/or business development experience within the agricultural and/or industrial commodities sectors.Technical aptitude to understand and discusss product requirements and application methods.Strong communication skills including but not limited to conducting product/industry related presentations, networking and developing strong client relationships.Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).Ability to work with and effectively communicate with others at all levels of the organization.Track record of taking initiative, producing quality work, and meeting tight deadlines.Proven ability to think outside of the box in order to develop new ideas and creative solutions.Ability to travel at least 25% of the time both domestically and within North America. Some travel will be outside the United States and the individual will require an international passport.
