The Sanitation Manager – WFSI will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring sanitation programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental health and safety regulationsThis position will work closely with WFSI Operations Leaders as well as plant leadership teams (plant managers, engineering, maintenance, sanitation and operations) to ensure the sanitation program is effective
This position will provide direction regarding sanitary design of new installations or the relocation of existing installationsThe Sanitation Manager will be required to interact with external entities such as Regulatory Officials from the FDA, USDA, and third party vendors such as chemical providers Job Responsibilities:
Programs and Policies: The Sanitation Manager will develop, implement and monitor company sanitation and hygiene programs and policies to ensure compliance and support business objectivesAdministration of Sanitation Program: The Sanitation Manager will be responsible for developing and recommending corrective action where sanitation issues exist.
Identify, monitor, correct and eliminate gaps between the manufacturing plant practices and Corporate Sanitation policiesThis position will conduct audits, evaluate, teach and train to improve plant sanitationAudit reports will be provided in a consistent and timely fashionThis position is responsible for monitoring housekeeping and hygiene standards in laboratory and other analytical areas in addition to the production areas within the manufacturing facilitiesProvide direction as needed to correct and/or eliminate any potential sanitation concernsCollaborate with microbiology to understand how each plant determines sanitation effectiveness Food Safety Requirements: The Sanitation Manager will ensure the Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Compliance standards are being met throughout the performance of day to day duties.
These standards include but are not limited to: GFSI, FSMA GMPs, HACCP Act as the subject matter expert relating to sanitationThis position will advise manufacturing, engineering and other operations personnel on decisions related to quality and food safety, and sanitary designProvide regular updates to Vice President of Quality Management and Food Safety on trends across WFSI to drive the action necessary to meet quality and food safety compliance objectives Identify best practices and communicate them to relevant plant personnel as well as leadership as part of continuous improvement initiativesRepresent ADM with outside consultants, trade associations, and appropriate industry groupsAll other duties as assigned Job Requirements:
BS in Food Science / Microbiology / Engineering, or Equivalent required 10 years of experience in/with food manufacturing environments with emphasis on program development and implementation, part of which must include audit experienceMust also have experience with wet/dry systems for micro sensitive food manufacturing facilities, familiarity with allergen control programs is essentialThermal process experience is preferred along with experience in CIP and COP system requirementsExperience in food testing protocols, methodologies, and microbiological issues in food is requiredCandidate must possess a strong working knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP?s, FSMA, sanitary desig
