This position requires a self-directed, team oriented individual who will perform the tasks to maintain the degree of cleanliness and sanitary conditions within the plant areas and equipment. Must possess a moderate to high level of technical, mechanical abilities and have basic math skills. Must possess good oral and written communication skills as well as basic math skills and be able interact with all plant personnel and work independently or as part of a team. Must be organized, detail oriented and capable of completing specialized safety training. Follow all company policies, cGMP, Food Safety, OHSA Safety regulations and SOP / SSOPs.Maintain and complete OSHA, food safety and HACCP, sanitation paperwork and or enter into a computer data base.Properly maintain Sanitation and PPE equipment.Break down, clean and sanitize food-processing equipment.Regularly work in confined spaces such as dryers, flour sifters, storage tanks, hoppers, dump stations, blender, mixers and silos.Perform general cleaning of structural components such as walls, floors, lights, pipes, windows, and ceilings.Properly mix and safely apply cleaning and sanitizing chemicals when necessary.Perform or participate in GMP or Food Safety audits and communicate results and corrective actions as required.Must be able to work at high elevations, in confined areas, in extreme heat and cold and in outside conditions on a regular basis.Must be proficient in the operation of or possess the ability to learn how to operate a variety of sanitation equipment: Brooms, Brushes, Mops (Dry & Wet), mop buckets, buckets, Vacuum (Dry & Wet), Scrapers, Dry steamers equipment, Pressure washer equipment, extractor units, floor scrubbers, floor scrapers, Trash compactors, baler unit, ladders, scissors lift, use basic tools, use Personal Protective equipment properly, use cleaning chemicals and sanitizers, use air gun for cleaning, etc. Other duties as assigned.Work overtime as required Minimum High School Diploma, GED or Higher.
Ability to see distance objects and distinguish full color spectrum.Able to read written instruction, SOP, SSOP and write production quality reporting on documentation or in computer data base programs.Ability to endure extensive walking, standing, climbing steps, ladders and platforms. Ability to lift 50 lbs, shovels 35 lbs, and pulls / pushes 1200 lbs with material handling equipment. Must be able to climb, kneel, crawl and work at elevation.Experience with material handling equipment and or the ability to qualify to operate material handling equipment within 60 days.
